Peroxisomes are ubiquitous organelles that regulate the cellular homeostasis through lipid metabolism, ROS generation and detoxification. It interacts with other organelles to maintain cellular signalling and also regulate cell aging and cell death. Peroxisome also plays a significant role in cancer cell survival through metabolic adaptation, immune invasion and resistance to therapy. Targeting peroxisomal biogenesis emerges as a promising frontier in the fight against anti-cancer resistance, offering a novel avenue for therapeutic innovation.
